White Wins Stanny for Most Inspirational Athletic Trainer
On May 19th Cardinal Council SAAC held the 3rd Annual STANNY Awards at Hewlett Auditorium to celebrate all of the Stanford Athletics’ accomplishments throughout the year. Four members of the Stanford Sports Medicine team were nominated for the inaugural 2015 Most Inspirational Athletic Trainer, with Brian White, MAE, ATC, CSCS taking home the award.
“I’m honored to receive the award for Most Inspirational Athletic Trainer. In a place where so many amazing things are achieved/accomplished I don’t often think of myself as being “inspirational”. I am easily inspired by these student-athletes who truly dedicate themselves to their teams/sports. I feel blessed to be a witness to some of the great achievements that happen here at Stanford and being able to play a part in their success is all I can ask for.”
The Most Inspirational Athletic Trainer STANNY is awarded to the athletic trainer who is crucial to the success of the team. They make the time you have to spend in rehab, injury recovery, and treatment as smooth and positive as possible and will do anything to help the team perform at its peak.
Justin Brinkley Cardinal Council SAAC executive member remarked, “We were so happy to expand our awards a little to recognize people who deserve it. When we talked about adding a coaches’ award it only made sense to also do an award for our ATs as well. No one would stay healthy without you all!”
