
Stanford Researchers Investigate Quality Measures in Orthopedic Sports Medicine
Stanford researchers recently investigated the current quality measures that are applicable to orthopaedic sports medicine physicians. The team searched six databases using a customized search term to identify quality measures relevant to orthopaedic sports medicine surgeons. Their most notable finding was there are many existing quality measures relating to the practice of orthopaedic sports medicine. Most quality measures are process measures described within Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) or American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Clinical Practice Guidelines (AAOS CPGs).
