John Ursone joined Stanford Sports Medicine in October 2017 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. John previously spent the last six years at Santa Clara University, the last three as an Associate Athletic Trainer. Over his time, he worked primarily with the Santa Clara baseball and women’s golf teams, as well as assumed a wide variety of administrative responsibility within the department. John also worked intimately with the San Jose State University Athletic Training Education Program as the lead preceptor for all athletic training clinical students at Santa Clara.

Prior to Santa Clara, John spent two years at Middle Tennesee State in Murfreesboro, TN as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with their baseball team and earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. A Connecticut native, John completed his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

John’s primary sport assignments at Stanford will be with the baseball and squash teams.
